11 more days.
The US budget is like a 1st grader playing Oregon Trail. Spend all the money on ammunition so you can shoot at stuff, then wonder why your wagon is falling apart and everyone is dying of dysentery.

Via RHPoliticsPeople of color have survived centuries of unspeakable violence against our cultures and our spirits. The cultures we have built today, in all their vibrancy and richness, are testaments to our strength and survival. Therefore, they have incredible meaning to us. When white folks just put them on like a pair of shoes, they neutralize years of resistance and celebration. The day when all peoples have equal access to large-scale media, when all peoples can travel with the same freedom, when all peoples have equal and humanized representation in the global cultural landscape, THEN we can talk about cultural exchange and how cultures can benefit from influencing each other. Until then, it’s just plain stealing.

This is why cultural appropriation is not just a “sharing different cultures.” Yes, when you are privileged and have been given the freedom (and money) to travel and take things from other cultures, it may seem like you are just “enjoying” or “appreciating” another culture. However, when your culture has been robbed from you, when it has been devalued and commodified, and when other cultures are forced upon you, there is no such thing as a horizontal exchange. There is power and privilege behind those actions of so called “sharing,” but in order for privilege to remain in place, it has to go unnoticed or unremarked so words like “sharing” are employed to mask “appropriation” or “theft.”

Outside of school, I never had to notice that the combination of my sex and my race along with a brain made people…uncomfortable for lack of a better word. And you all wonder why I can’t wait to get back to those walls.
See if you can solve this riddle for me. Why is it that the harder I work the worse my grades get. So much or being competitive in finding a job this year. Hello unemployment.
